Townseed
Townseed is an indie game created by my good friend and talented artist/animator/programmer/what-have-you, Geremy Walker. It’s a crowd-funded survival game and you can find it on 8-Bit Funding. It’s been active since March and has raised a little over half of the 8k goal. There’s only 30 days left and about $3500 to raise.

On Friday I was told by one of my little brother’s friends that, ‘for a girl’, I had a pretty great game collection.
Excuse me? Being a girl has fuck all to do with it. I have a great game collection because I’m a goddamn gamer. Those games are my life and you wouldn’t stand a chance against me playing any of them, chump.

So talented, oh my gah.
There’s a fine balance between making real-life professions in video games fun as well as sorta realistic. Crops don’t grow in five minute or six hours in real life, but that hasn’t stopped the plethora of farming games out there.
What about creating items in Tales games? Fusing metals and gems and materials sure doesn’t work like that in real life, but realistically smithing weapons and armour wouldn’t go over well with test groups, I’ll betcha. Same reason they simplified the waitress mini-games: no one would want to do them if they were 100% true to life.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m gonna go out and dance with some friends. I’ll get sparkles and neon lights and a big rewarding ‘FLAWLESS!’ to let me know I’m doing the moves correctly, right? Damn straight.
